Keith Taylor MEP (SE England)
Keith Taylor has been the Green Party MEP representing the South-East of England since June 2010. Keith sits on the European Parliament Transport & Tourism
and International Trade Committees. He is also a member of delegations to Afghanistan, Iran and Palestine. In both the Parliament and his constituency he
is working on peace, equalities and human rights, international trade and development, energy, transport, tourism and animal welfare issues.
Keith is a member of the European Parliament's Intergroup on LGBT Gay Rights. The Intergroup is a forum for Members of the European Parliament who are interested in issues that impact the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people—as well as their families and employers. Members of the Intergroup work to highlight LGBT issues when they draft reports or amendments, when they vote in the Parliament, or when they work on constituent’s cases.
Keith, along with his colleagues on the Intergroup on LGBT Rights, is working to improve freedom of movement for LGBT people, secure transgender rights, combat discrimination in the European Union and monitor human rights in the work of the European Union.
Recently Keith has written to the Minister for Women and Equalities to raise his concerns that intersex people were excluded from the Equality Act 2010. In parliament he has supported the adoption of a resolution urging the Lithuanian parliament to reject draft homophobic legislation. He has also supported a European Parliament resolution which strongly condemns the brutal murder of Ugandan LGBT rights activist David Kato.
