The Green Party is still the only party to support marriage equality for lesbian and gay couples. We fully support pioneering lesbian wives Celia Katzinger and Sue Wilkinson, in their case to have their Canadian marriage recognised in the UK.
Lib Dem policies for LGBT equality might well come a close second to the Greens, but actions speak louder than words. They have just been slammed by their first out-gay MP, for keeping quiet about his homosexuality. It was a matter of great pride for the Greens, when we elected Darren Johnson as the first out-gay 'leader' of a national political party, back in 2002.
